Hi Reader!
It’s almost a Month since Ondoy slammed the Philippines (Southern Luzon) that led to Manila’s great flood. Everybody is probably still hungover from the tragic incident. Beyond the tragedy, inspiring stories of faith, heroism and survival arise.
Relief operations didn’t just give away goods, clothes and blankets - they gave people hope. People, regardless of social status, or even those who are also greatly affected share a noble cause - To help. We are truly living up to the value of “Bayanihan” (bayan-nation, bayani-hero). And this, I believe is the true meaning of People Power - It’s not just going out to the streets and ousting presidents - It’s about stepping up and helping one another in times like this. I’m just proud to be Filipino!
(It’s better late to post, than never.)
Love,
